In many Asian homes, especially in our Pakistanis homes, mustard oil —lovingly known as Sarson ka tail. It is more than just a regular oil; it’s our trusted kitchen ingredient that is used as a part of our everyday life.

How to Use Mustard oil

  2. Now, apply this lukewarm oil with your fingertips and massage it in circular motions for 5-10 minutes. Until it is absorbed into your scalp. 
  3. You can apply the remaining oil to your hair length, focusing especially on the dry and split ends. 
  4. Leave it for up to 2 hours and then rinse your hair with a mild shampoo. 

2. As Hair Mask

For hair mask, we need 

Mustard oil hair mask

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of mustard oil 

  • 1 egg yolk 

  • 2 tablespoons yogurt 

Method 

 Mix 1 tablespoon of mustard oil with egg yolk and yogurt in a clean bowl. Whisk all the ingredients well until it forms a smooth mixture. 

Now apply this hair mask on your scalp and all along the hair length. Leave it for 30-45 minutes and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. 

Benefit 

This hair mask strengthens our hair roots and makes our hair soft and smooth. 

3. As a Quick Pre-Wash Treatment

  1. As a quick pre-wash treatment, use a small amount of mustard oil and pour it on your palm.  
  2. Then gently massage it in circular motions for 5 minutes.  
  3. Leave it for 10-15 minutes on your scalp and hair length. 
  4. Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner as usual. 

Safety Measures 

  • Always do a patch test before using mustard oil over the scalp. 

  • Use mustard oil in moderation, as excessive use can make your scalp greasy. 

  • Try to slightly warm the mustard oil before the application. In this way, it will be easily absorbed.
